Research interests
Dr. Kamp is interested in improving self-management and health-related quality of life for individuals with gastrointestinal disease. Her focus is individuals with inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease) and irritable bowel syndrome. She is open to new collaborations.
Self-management among Emerging Adults with Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Research focusing on young adults with ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease is lacking. This is concerning as most individuals are diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease between the ages of 15 – 29. My foundational work has explored self-management among young adults with ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. Most research focuses on medical decision-making regarding medication and surgical decision making among middle age individuals failing to incorporate self-management strategies into the discussion of decision-making.
