Some of our research studies have found:
- Fatigue is the most commonly experienced symptom among emerging adults with IBD. Fatigue was more common than abdominal cramps, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Read more.
- Both clinical disease activity and anxiety are associated with fatigue in a chart review study. Read more.
- Differences exist between patient-reported remission (a yes/no quest about are you in remission) and symptom measures. Differences were more likely to occur in patients recently diagnosed and those with low health confidence. Read more.
- Sleep disturbances are not associated with endoscopic disease activity. Rather, sleep disturbances are associated with symptoms of anxiety, depression, and fatigue. (Manuscript under review).
